No. 8641/08 of the 17th. instant.

I do not suppose the conditions attaching

to a Government Note Issue would differ very materially from

those governing the issue of Bank notes and as I consider the

system of this Bank serves the convenience of the public with

the maximum safety I cannot, in reply thereto, do better than suggest that an official of the Government be deputed to come

to the Bank to enquire into and to make himself acquainted with,

the working of the note issue of this Corporation for which

purpose every facility will be afforded him.
